The cool edge of the crimson stained dagger was pressed against his throat, the slightest move would sever an artery and end his life. Alexander felt disappointed in himself for diminishing the threat that Daniel always held, his connection to the Shadow. It was reminiscent of the days when Johann was around and the sickening aura of the Guardian seemed to follow the man wherever he walked. “Do you truly imagine that ending my life will give you the redemption you seek, Daniel? There is not a single thing on this Earth that you can do to redeem yourself for murdering that child. I never gave the orders to kill her Daniel, you did that of your own accord.” It was late to plead his case, but anything was better than wordlessly lying here and accepting his fate as such a man ended his life. Alexander always held Daniel in a position of respect, he had moments of missing cues from time to time but he was intelligent. He was quite possibly the last man alive that would have given him the chance to return home. But here he lay on the floor of the Orb Chamber, his human form disrupted by the Orb, pinned down on the ground by the man he would have saved if it wasn’t for this sudden insanity, or for this coup formed with the Guardian who now stood in the corner watching saying God know’s what to Daniel to hurry the spilling of his alien blood.

“You may not have given the orders, Alexander, but you still had innocent people locked away for further use in this plan of yours. So tell me, how many innocents did I kill? How many of those people who claimed innocence were telling the truth? How much of a monster have you made me into, Alexander?” There was a fury in Daniel’s eyes as the dagger pressed down harder with each word until it was becoming difficult for the baron to breathe. “You made yourself a monster, Daniel. No one has controlled your behavior, a simple prod led you into preforming the rituals without question. I could care less for the innocent blood spilled, as that blood is staining your hands, not mine.” His voice was a weak rasp in comparison to the usual regal baritone tone it held. “I believe you answered my question for me then, baron. I refuse to kill anymore, and I shall end your life and leave you in eternal damnation for what you have done!” Daniel refused to hear anymore, the deal between him and the Guardian was that Alexander was to die, and he feared the result if he did not follow through.

The dagger was lifted away from his neck, a trickle of blood could be felt from where it was pressed. Alexander winced, refusing to accept his fate and made a struggle to move out of Daniel’s reach, but just as the arm crossing his chest moved, the dagger was sunk into his chest. A glance was cast downwards, even if it hadn’t hit a fatal organ or vessel, centuries past had left him too weak to be able to remove the weapon on his own. There was no goodbye to be held between them, and no more to say. This was the fate he imagined that he deserved, crushed once more by someone he was starting to consider a friend.

Ah, it's been a while traditional art. It's been quite a while. And it's finally back! And if you want, I can sell this piece as a print! I have a much bigger resolution stashed.

Yup, that's Daniel (whatcha lookin' at?) and this picture is a direct sequel to this one, symbolism wise. So in order to understand this symbolism, you'll need to go to that picture's description. xD But sadly, this will be last Amnesia fanart picture for now. I promised myself to open commissions and switch to drawing my beloved vampire babies. Or one vampire baby. And kinda keep going and update my story/fanfic a bit. It's been neglected, oh my!

Hehehe, I would explain the symbolism in this picture but that would take more space than that excerpt of Alex's. So tell you what, try figuring that out. One thing I have to say is this: that it's kind off AUish... That Daniel stabs Alexander to death before taking the Amnesia potion. But other than that, everything's canon. Okay... mostly. _{But seriously, he looks (imo) hot.} *fists herself in the eye*

Notes (aka read before you comment):
-Daniel's hand, beside the fingers, is not visible because I wanted it to merge with the darkness of his cloak.
-No cloak embroidery here sorry; Daniel is no Edwin.
-Daniel's scarf and outfit can also be seen in this picture.
-The mask's design was created by me.
-No references beside the anatomy of the human skull were used. (I'm proud of myself! ^o^/)
-You may glimpse some Amnesia: Justine references in this picture. _{Because I ship Danstine.}
-This picture's symbolism mentions the Mark, or the Shadow's claim on Daniel, Aliya's headcanon edition.
-The 'angel' part was inspired by Heroes 6 trailer, where the angel's wings 'burn' and turn black.
-The Shadow's being the 'puppet master' in the highest right corner.

Things which need to be fixed: (this is a memo for myself, so no need to point these out)
-The nostrils on the mask are uneven (that's the result of misusing the warp tool);
-Move Daniel's lower jaw a bit;
-His fingers seem to go through the edge of the mask, wtf;
-I still have a feeling that the mask is a bit too small for his face...
